Sillustani Tour from Puno Itinerary:

2:00 PM - Pickup from hotels in downtown Puno We'll begin our journey with pickup from your hotel or a prearranged meeting point in downtown Puno. In our tour vehicle, we'll head to the archaeological site of Sillustani, located approximately 21 miles (34 km) northwest of the city, on a less than one-hour drive across the Andean Altiplano.

3:00 PM - Arrival at the Sillustani Archaeological Complex Upon arrival, we'll enter the majestic complex (entrance included) and begin a guided tour of one of ancient Peru's most significant burial sites. Our expert guide will detail the history and meaning of the mysterious chullpas, circular funerary towers built of stone by the Kolla culture and later used by the Incas. Some of these structures reach up to 39 feet (12 meters) high and contained the remains of nobles and important leaders of that period.

You'll learn about the ritual and spiritual importance of this site as a ceremonial center, as well as intriguing details about the Andean worldview and their funerary customs. Furthermore, you'll have privileged views of the impressive Umayo Lagoon, which surrounds the complex, creating a unique natural environment, perfect for relaxation and photography.

4:30 PM - Free time for exploration and photography You'll have time to enjoy the Altiplano nature, capture panoramic views, observe native fauna like vizcachas or Andean birds, or simply appreciate the silence and spiritual energy of the region. After this cultural and scenic journey, we'll begin our return to Puno while enjoying the Andean landscape on the way back.
